Photo requirements (at Vietnam airport)

Photographs are required at Vietnam airports only and you do not need to provide them during the online application process. The photographs need to be taken in the format specified below. These format requirements meet internationally agreed standards. If the photographs are not in this format, they will be rejected, and may cause a delay in processing your application.

 

Photographs must:


- be a recent true likeness of the individual, taken within the last 6 months
- in colour, not black and white
- taken against a light grey or cream background 40 millimetres (mm) width x 60 mm height (4cm*6cm)
- be free from shadows
- be printed professionally or taken in a passport photo booth. Photos printed at home are unlikely to be of an acceptable standard.

VIETNAM VISA FOR IRISH CITIZENS

  • Irish Citizens must have a valid passport to enter Vietnam and a Vietnam visa. You can obtain your visa at the embassy or online for a visa on arrival (air travel only). With online application, you will receive an electronic pre-approved visa letter which will allow tourists and business travellers to come to Vietnam and pick up the visa stamp at Vietnam airport, with a stay of up to three months.
